I've been concerned for a while about the ability of the TVR electronics to deal with heat, problems such as the hot start issue lead me to think about what else I could do to reduce these problems.
I noticed in the battery box (which contains the battery, fuses, some relays and the ECU) that there were two unlagged, solid heating pipes. It occured to me that these would be significantly raising the temperature in this otherwise unventilated box.
The Fix
Dead easy, 49 pence worth of pipe lagging from B&Q cable-tied over the pipes. The lagging is pre-split down the side so it's very easy to fit.
Here are a couple of pictures of the result:
Conclusions
It's difficult to say what difference this has made (if any) but it makes me feel more confident that the electronics are not being needlessly heated.
